The song is brilliant on many levels. And it's one of the best songs on Revolver, one of the Beatles' best LPs (as they called records back then, short for long-playing).

This part of the get back documentary was where I really made a u turn on john lennon.. I used to idolise him ad the working class hero and epitome of cool. But as I've matured I've grown a massive amount of respect for George's musical talent and quiet grace.. the way john acts like an ignorant bully through that part really left a sour taste in my mouth and really changed the way I see him

I believe John used Yoko to be the scapegoat of him wanting to leave without him actually saying it. A power grab, an ego & narcissistic approach. Listen, John has always believed he was in charge. Remember that he fought Paul on creativity on songs, rhythms, lyrics & criticized Paul's song on "Yesterday" John wouldn't even allow George any say or input, then comes Yoko who John listened to! She wasn't a musician, she couldn't sing & she was tone deaf but yet John gave her a platform while dismissing his bandmates inputs. This pissed off Paul, George & Ringo. Yes, John asked Yoko to the recording sessions, but she could've said no! She should've realized that their dynamics & relationship as a band were fragile & should've known better. Yoko was the straw that broke the camels back!

It's a heartbreaking tune - the commentary on Father McKenzie more aptly describes a man in despair, who has lost faith but in delusion still clings to convention...

The song was written about John not Jullian Paul was afraid that John would find out that the song was about him. Hey Jude ( John) don’t make it bad.( the marriage with Cynthia) Take a sad song( their marriage) and make it better( work on your marriage and forget about Yoko) Paul thinks that maybe John realized it was about him later on.

I think Rubber Soul does mark the change from early Beatles to late Beatles. Rubber Soul is the collision point where the two meet, Revolver is firmly on the side of late Beatles, IMO. Great vid.

The medley is indeed a fabulous and a VERY Beatles thing to do, but John later saying he didnt like it is also a really John thing to do.

In the documentary "George Harrison: Living in the Material World", his wife describes a moment where he saw a beautiful sunset and exclaimed "I want to be able to do that!". I believe, if George got his wish, he most definatly sent those beetles xD
